Flexible van hire

The difference between the large companies (Thrifty, etc) and the small ones like this chap is flixibility. Because I wanted to hire a van on the Sunday of a bank holiday weekend, they wanted to charge for 3 days' rental as they would not be able to take it back until the Tuesday. JD van hire had no such restraint - I used the van for a day and paid for a day. The Mercedes van in question is a bit old (over 200k on the clock!), but it was reliable and did the job. And he called me up to let me know that I'd left my umbrella in it and could pick it up at any time.
